Rain, Beaches, and Poo...

Last Sunday we traveled to Myrtle Beach for our five day vacation! It rained off and on for our drive there, but we eventually arrived. We had taken the car and the truck that was pulling Vic's Harley in the trailer. Vic's sister, Pam, and her husband flew in the day before to join us, hence the taking of the car.
We enjoyed some time in the pool the next morning, adults enjoyed mostly the hot tub, however! We enjoyed some walking time on the beach and collected some shells.

When we went back to go swimming, Allaunna headed straight for the water and got really mad when we made her get warm and dry off. She eventually fell asleep in Grandma's Connie's arms and took a nap!

During the week we visited the Aquarium, Margaritaville, the beach (where we actually got to swim 'cause the weather got above 75 for once and got kissed by the sun a bit because of failure to reapply sun screen!), a few historical sites, and Ripley's haunted mansion. The kids were pretty freaked out by the darker parts of the haunted mansion. Vic was able to ride his bike a couple of the days. On Thursday, we were at the Hopswee plantation getting ready to leave when the chain came off of Vic's Harley. Thankfully there was a worker or resident that loaned Vic the tools he needed to get it back on. Twenty minutes and we were back on our way.

We really had a good time...Thank you again Grandma Connie and Papa James!

The trip home was pretty uneventful. I began to unpack as soon as we got in, hoping to sleep in a bit this morning. However, Allaunna was up from 4:30 to 5:30. Then I was awoken at 8 by a horrible baby scream..as I walked into her room it looked like her poopy diaper had exploded all over her and her bed!!! I removed the other side of her diaper and just left it in her bed and took her to the bath. Thirty minutes later I had the toxic waste removed from her and her bed. Never have I seen anything like it and hope to never have it be seen again!!

So, here we are with two weeks of school remaining before the endless summer! Two children who are always bored and one who seems to act like life could never be boring! Hopefully we will find many exciting, fun things to do!
